How to disable Auto-Correct on the Samsung Galaxy S5

Auto-Correct is one of those features that we tend to either love or hate. Personally, I like it to some extent, but some people dont. I love to proof-read my text and send annoying (and potentially embarrassing) erroneous words lol!.
For some reason, the Auto-Correct feature on the popular Samsung Galaxy S5 smart phone seems to be even worse at guessing what you intended to type than its predecessors were.
If you aren’t all that fond of Auto-Correct, you can easily disable it on your own Galaxy S5. Here’s how:


1 – With the virtual keyboard displayed on the screen, tap and hold the Dictation key until a floating menu pops up. You’ll find the dictation key in the lower left-hand corner of the keyboard immediately to the right of the Sym key. Refer to the partial screenshot below:

 2– On the floating menu, tap the “gear” shaped Settings icon. Again, here is a screenshot:

3 – Find the section labeled “Smart Typing” and tap the Predictive Text option to turn it off.


That’s all there is to it. Your phone’s Auto-Correct feature is now disabled. You can always re-enable it if you need to by repeating steps 1-3 above and turning the Predictive Text option back on.
