First scorers in prominent Nigerian stadium and goals with Nigerian connections round the World

1947 December 14. – Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, home of Real Madrid. Sabino Barinaga, the Spanish coach that led Nigeria to the Mexico ’68 Olympics scored the first goal at Bernabeu’s inauguration when Real Madrid won 3-1 against OS Balenenses of Portugal.

• 2007 June 6 – Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos. Enyimba’s Uche Kalu (not Super Eagles’ Kalu Uche) opened scoring in a 2-1 defeat of Wikki Tourists in a Super League contest after the maiden match (Enyimba versus Ghana’s Asante Kotoko) at the sta­dium’s inauguration on May 28 ended goalless..
